It's a straight up fantastic amateur singer-songwriter record but with original and unexpectedly depressing songs, including one called 'Unwelcome Soldier' about soldiers (presumably) returning from Vietnam and being shunned by society.Most of the songs deal with heartache and the disintegration of relationships in a genuinely heartfelt way.....like she's really speaking from her own experience.She even rocks out on the incredible Sharing.
I also love the cover, which is so far beyond generic that it becomes subversive.It could literally be the cover of a million different types of record ... but it's absolutely perfect for the sad world of J.J. Kellum."
