Mac Gayden has played on several well known artists recordings as a studio musician (e.g. Bob Dylans "Blonde On Blonde") and can be heard with his typical slide/wha wha on J J Cale's "Crazy Mama" and Steve Young's fantasic two albums "Renegade Picker" and "No Place To Fall".
He never plays flashy or loud. He almost allways holds back and keep you wanting for more. It is well worth searching for records were he contributes even if you might typically just hear his guitar on one or two tunes. He is virtually unknown for most people but at the very same time well established among the musical elite particularly in Nashville. (review by Cronholm on discogs)
This is one of the worlds ten best records ever made! I personally regard it as number one!! It feels totally up to date whatever decade you hear it. I have listened to it for 40 years and still think it is fantastic and definitely Mac's best album. If you ever get hold of this album consider yourself lucky! This really is one of the top 10 records I have ever heard. It's special. The recording is gorgeous, the sound quality phenomenal. The musicianship and songwriting are quite literally almost out of this world. This is a cosmic record in the truest sense. If you have found this record or are considering trying to get this record it will not let you down. Listening to this deeply positive record really changed the way I think for the better.
